Smoggo (1978) ▰ Ray Boy & Devil Dog (1978) ▰ Gimme (1977) ▰ Uniform World 2 (1979) ▰ Godzilla [Blue] (1979) ▰ Seven Dead, 21 Missing (1988) ▰ Cola Madness (1983) by Gary Panter [1950–].

Gary Panter first entered my subconscious mind while watching Pee-Wee’s Playhouse (where he was a set designer along with Wayne White and many other artists).  He never left.

It’s awe-inspiring to shuffle through his career retrospective and see how much he’s accomplished—and preserved for that matter, one book is sketches while the other is paintings.  There’s also a decent wedge of the latter book dedicated to his influences with photos of toys from his childhood, his teenage work, and the work of his primary influences.  Highly recommended: Gary Panter (2008)—hardcover, 700-pages and somehow under $40USD.
